BIFA to sponsor freight crime-busters

BIFA – the British International Freight Association – is to sponsor the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) and will as a result be able to offer members up-to-date information of truck crime.

NaVCIS is a national police unit that aims to reduce all vehicle crime, including theft of or from trucks. While hosted by Hampshire Constabulary, it is funded by industry donations.

In return, BIFA will receive fortnightly updates on vehicle which it will forward to its members and build up a picture of the types of crime that is occurring and any crime ‘hotspots’.
