BIFA urges forwarders: check before moving food products from Germany

[ January 21, 2025   //   ]

BIFA is urging forwarders not to move food and animal product goods from Germany unless they are absolutely sure that they are compliant, following the outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease in the country. The association says that they should be completely confident that they have accurate information on meat products, products of animal origin and processed foods that are either from Germany, have travelled through Germany or are of German origin but processed in another country. BIFA’s latest guidance is that any forwarder bringing in such products should talk to their relevant Port Health Authority to see how regulations are being applied.
