Brussels allows Ireland to support truckers

The European Commission has approved an €18 million Irish scheme to support its road haulage sector following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine under the State aid Temporary Crisis Framework. It will allow the government to support the road haulage sector affected by fuel price increases as a result of the war. It will be open to road haulage operators of all sizes with a valid operating license in Ireland that are affected by the current crisis. Operators will be entitled to aid in the form of direct grants not exceeding €400,000, no later than 31 December 2022.
