Geodis is delivering equipment for the Chimgan ski resort in Uzbekistan. Starting in March 2026, equipment for the project will be sent from several European sites by multimodal transport to the Tchatkal mountains.

The forwarder is providing logistics support to MND, a French industrial group specializing in cable mobility, snowmaking systems, mountain safety and thrill leisure infrastructures, which is supplying the key equipment to Chimgan, northeast of Tashkent, which is being developed into become one of Central Asia’s leading leisure hubs.

It has already managed 92 shipments over the past year, including four exceptional load convoys, delivering cable lifts and infrastructure. The equipment to be transported includes chairlifts, gondolas, an alpine coaster, and ziplines

With transit through Russia or Iran currently prohibited, Geodis teams have designed an alternative, that  combines road and sea transport using tautliner semi-trailers, eliminating the need for transshipment.

Equipment will be shipped from several European sites via the ports of Sète (France) and Trieste (Italy), then by ship via Turkey and the Caspian Sea to Uzbekistan. The average journey duration will be between 30 and 45 days.

Executive vice-president of European Road Network activities, Marc Vollet, said: “This highly complex international project perfectly illustrates our expertise: building tailor-made supply chains where traditional routes are no longer available. Our role is to secure flows, control lead times, and provide long-term support to our industrial clients on such strategic international projects.”
