Cargo-partner and Nippon Express take to the road together

[ May 13, 2025   //   ]

Cargo-partner and Nippon Express are to merge their European road transport operations, one year after the Austrian-based forwarder became a group company of Nippon Express Holdings.

They will combine Cargo-partner’s footprint in Central and Eastern Europe with Nippon Express’s presence in Western Europe, under the project name, ONE Road.

The integration has already led to the full unification of services between Cargo-partner and Nippon Express in Italy. Future phases will target the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. A Road Community will be established to ensure representation for every country and region.

The Italy-Central Europe corridor already benefits from a daily groupage service between Austria and Italy and, there are now regular road groupage transport flows between Nippon Express’s hub in Milan and Cargo-partner sites in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bulgaria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, western Romania, and North Macedonia.

Direct linehaul services were also launched between major cargo-partner hubs in Poland and several NX offices in Italy in February 2025.
