Cargo-partner moves into UK warehousing

Austrian-headquartered forwarder Cargo-partner – now part of the Nippon Express Group has opened its first warehouse in the UK, next to one of its existing offices in Basildon.

The new 4,460sq m building has dedicated areas for pallets, block storage, small parts, picking/packing and other value added activity such as re-packing and re-labelling.

The company opened its fourth UK office near London Heathrow Airport in November and has a well-established presence in Dublin, Ireland,

Managing director Ireland & UK, Fergal Keenan, said: “While we have always offered warehousing services through partners, the Basildon facility represents our first cargo-partner managed warehousing facility in the UK. This strategic investment marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide end-to-end logistics solutions to our customers.”

Cargo-partner has traditionally had a very strong presence in Central and Eastern Europe and has recently substantially invested in expanding its footprint in Western Europe and has more recently expanded its network into the UK, Italy and Spain.

Further significant logistics investments in include the 10,000sq m iLogistics Center in Sottrum near Hamburg, Germany and a 5,900sq m warehouse in Roermond in the Netherlands.
