Cargobeamer launches east-west rail route

Rail piggyback operator CargoBeamer has added route between Venlo and Oradea, one of the first rail services for semitrailers between the Netherlands and Romania. It operates six round trips per week with a transit time of 60 hours.

Trains run daily from Sunday to Friday from the Cabooter Terminal in Venlo, Netherlands, as well as from Friday to Wednesday from the Intermodal Terminal Oradea and it can carry craneable and non-craneable semi-trailers, Frigo, ADR, and tank trailers, as well as containers and swap-bodies.

Much of the capacity will be used by Romanian logistics company Routier European Transport, which will also provide the train’s rail traction but remaining slots are available to the general market.
