CargoBeamer ups Germany/Italy trains

[ September 5, 2023   //   ]

Rail road operator CargoBeamer has stepped up its frequency of its route between Kaldenkirchen (Germany) and Domodossola (Italy) to 17 weekly rotations. Additionally, the new schedule now represents the highest density of trains ever operated by CargoBeamer says it is the highest frequency on a route in transalpine intermodal traffic between two terminals for craneable and non-craneable semi-trailers.

CargoBeamer has also extended its  terminal in to around 700 meters each, asphalting further areas, and creating additional parking areas for semi-trailers, boosting capacity from two to five train pairs per day and eliminating the need to split trains into two parts.

The service uses the Simplon corridor through the Lötschberg Base Tunnel and was not affected by the Gotthard tunnel incident.
