Cargolux goes to Muscat

[ June 19, 2013   //   ]

Cargolux Airlines has added Muscat in Oman to its 747-8 freighter round the world service, which also calls in Hong Kong, Columbus and Chicago before returning to Luxembourg. Last year, Oman announced the transformation of Muscat International Airport into an international gateway and air freight logistics hub. A new cargo terminal will be capable of handling 260,000 tonnes annually, with a further planned expansion to 500,000 tonnes.

The carrier adds that the new direct cargo service to Muscat will save customers time because the airline is no longer constrained by limitations in trucking services from other airports in the region, especially for dangerous goods.
