Champ buys Traxon Europe

Air freight IT specialist Champ Cargosystems has acquired electronic communications company Traxon Europe from its majority shareholders, which include Lufthansa Cargo and Air France. Champ CEO John Johnston said: “The combination of Champ’s software solutions and Traxon’s wide network will result in the most comprehensive suite of software and distribution services available in the market.

Traxon Europe becomes a subsidiary of Champ and will continue to operate under the Traxon name. Traxon Europe’s managing director Felix Keck also welcomed the deal, saying that the two companies shared the same strategic objectives are complementary: “The portfolio of electronic air cargo solutions we can jointly offer is a clear benefit for both company’s customers and the wider air cargo market.”

Lufthansa board member for product and sales, Dr.Andreas Otto added that the sale would help the airline concentrate on its core business, but Traxon would remain a major partner of Lufthansa Cargo as a neutral platform and provider of electronic communication solutions.
