Chinook to build hydrogen-from-waste plant at Tilbury
[ August 1, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]London Thames Hydrogen has confirmed a £200 million private-sector commitment to build a hydrogen-from-waste facility on the Tilbury Tax Site at Thames Freeport, as part of the Government’s Industrial Strategy. Delivered by Chinook Hydrogen, the Tilbury plant will produce up to 12 tonnes per day of hydrogen, using residual waste otherwise destined for landfill. The investment will be the first stage of a £1bn national hydrogen corridor across the UK road network and initiative will also include a five-tonne-per-day hydrogen-from-waste development in Doncaster.
