Chongqing choo-choo

The first scheduled freight train left Chongqing bound for Duisburg in Germany, carrying 41 containers, on the evening of 30 July, according to the he Chongqing Daily. The 11,179km journey was expected to take 16 days, said a spokesman from Chongqing Transportation Holding Group, the cargo train’s contracting carrier. Weekly services are expected to start at the end of this year, the report added.
