Clean water again – thanks to American Airlines

[ May 18, 2016   //   ]

American Airlines Cargo shipped more than 20 pallets of water purification units to Ecuador following last month’s earthquake.
The 7.8 magnitude quake hit local water treatment plants and supply networks in towns such as Manta and Portoviejo.
The carrier donated transportation to GlobalMedic, allowing the charity to send 560 Family Emergency Kits to Quito from New York JFK. They were trucked from Toronto, Canada to New York by a partner who also donated its services for loading onto a B777 aircraft via Miami to the Ecuadorian capital for distribution to the outlying towns and cities most affected by the quake.
