CMA CGM recruits IT expert

CMA CGM Group has appointed Nicolas Sekkaki as executive vice president IT, digital & transformation to accelerate its technological ambitions.

The announcement comes just days after the group said that it was dealing with a cyber-attack that had affected its peripheral servers. External access to CMA CGM IT applications had to be shut down and the line’s website said that access to e-Commerce services was currently unavailable.

Sekkaki is described as one of the world’s best experts in this sector, he has been chairman of IBM France since 2015, and a dedicated team will be set up to assist him in his role. Padmaraja Dipankar, currently vice president of intelligent operations and innovation at Accenture, has been appointed group chief digital officer and will lead digital transformation projects and foster partnerships with external companies ranging from start-ups to major digital groups. Michel Foulon will lead IT operations for the CMA CGM Group and its subsidiaries.
