CMA CGM to move 1000teu for World Food Programme

The CMA CGM Foundation has signed a strategic partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) to help provide life-saving assistance in conflict and disasters.

Under the Containers of Hope program, the Foundation will transport 1,000teu per year free of charge to support the WFP’s operations, around the world.  

The United Nations agency provides life-saving assistance in emergencies and uses food aid to pave the way for peace, stability, and prosperity for communities around the world and, in 2023 helped 150 million people. On any given day, WFP mobilizes 6,500 trucks, 20 ships, and 140 aircraft to reach those in need.

Created in 2005 and chaired by Tanya Saadé Zeenny, the CMA CGM Foundation focuses on humanitarian aid and education for all. To date, it has transported 38,000 tons of humanitarian aid to 82 countries and supported more than 450 educational projects in France, Lebanon and around the world.
