CMA CGM to offer direct Cork-US service
[ April 17, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]CMA CGM has added a call in Cork, Ireland to its PAD route between Europe and North America, saying it offers the fastest transit time on the trade. The weekly service will offer transit times of around nine days from Cork to New York and 11 days to Savannah. The service also calls at Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Dunkirk and Le Havre and, eastbound, Philadelphia.
The new call is supported by the deployment of an additional vessel.
CMA adds that direct calls at Dunkerque and Zeebrugge are also unique and connections are available to the Baltic and Scandinavia through Rotterdam.
The service uses CMA CGM’s Port Liberty terminals in the US with priority berthing.
CMA CGM says the route is particularly well suited for high-value and time-sensitive shipments and is even a credible alternative to air freight.
CMA CGM has been present in Ireland for over 20 years and already calls at three Irish ports and offers up to six weekly sailings.
The new CMA CGM service is Cork’s second transatlantic route. ICL has operated a weekly route from the Irish port to Chester, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, North Carolina for over five years, also calling in Southampton and Antwerp.
