Condor trims its wings

[ June 15, 2015   //   ]

MSC is bucking the trend towards ever-larger container ships by reducing the average vessel size on its Asia-Europe Condor service from 9,500 to 6,500teu. The move follows extensive analysis of capacity on its services against current and anticipated demands.
The network changes will apply to Maersk Line, MSC’s partner in the 2M vessel sharing agreement (branded AE9) and is expected to be fully effective by the middle of the third quarter of the year.
The Condor service calls at Southampton in the UK.
