Conveyor is Portbury’s longest-ever

[ May 16, 2012   //   ]

Bristol’s Royal handled its longest-ever ship when ACL’s Atlantic Conveyor called on 15 May. She was diverted from her normal Liverpool call by lock outages. ACL managing director Ian Higby said: “Keeping to our schedule is a key part of our promise to our customers so we are very pleased that the operation at Bristol Port has gone so smoothly. Bristol’s proven ability to handle large container ships and its excellent road and rail links are a great asset.” Simon Bird, Chief Executive of The Bristol Port Company commented: “As expected, Atlantic Conveyor came in easily and the discharge went well with the vessel leaving as planned on the next tide. It was a pleasure to handle a vessel of this size and to help ACL.”
