Dachser seeks more space

[ May 26, 2021   //   ]

Dachser is to start replacing its fleets outside Germany with mega trailers over the next few years. While they have the same length and width as a standard semi-trailer, and their overall height remains below 4 meters, they boast an additional 20 centimetres in interior height, as the loading area is just under 100 centimetres above the road surface, giving 8 cubic meters more cargo space. With double‑deck loading, a mega trailer offers space for 67 euro pallets, close to the 72-pallet capacity of a semi-trailer truck with two swap bodies, which remains Dachser’s preferred choice.

Full conversion of the German trailer fleet is scheduled to be completed by 2027, some 680 units in total.
