DB’s legal eagle returns to private practice

[ July 4, 2016   //   ]

DB Cargo UK’s head of commercial law, Chris Thornes (pictured, second from left) is to return to private practice, joining Hull-based shipping, transport and international trade firm Myton Law, after a ten-year spell at the rail company. As well as overseeing property law requirements for the DBS, latterly he also managed commercial law requirements, including haulage and international procurement contracts, and acted as general legal counsel for forwarder Schenker in the UK.

General counsel of DB Cargo Europe, George Shaw, said, “Whilst we are sad to lose Chris Thornes back to private practice, we are pleased that he is still available to support the DB Group, as an external lawyer. We are certain that his knowledge of international transport law and insight into how transport organisations work and think, will make him a highly sought after lawyer by other clients as well.”
