Deugro to the rescue as compressor suffers compressed delivery schedule

[ October 28, 2020   //   ]

Deugro Air has moved urgently needed oversized compressor equipment from Germany to the US on an Antonov 124 freighter aircraft. Initially, it was planned to ship the cargo by sea, but due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on industrial production in Europe, completion of the unit was delayed by several months.

As the position of the lifting lugs on the compressor unit was originally prepared for ocean freight it did not allow for loading the cargo with the AN-124’s on-board crane. The deugro team arranged a mobile crane as well as a loading ramp to load the cargo onto the aircraft at Cologne Bonn Airport. The same method was used to offload the compressor at Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.
