DFDS on the acquisition trail again

[ September 22, 2021   //   ]

DFDS has acquired Danish freight forwarding company ICT Logistics, in which it has had a 19.9% stake since 2003. DFDS said full ownership would strengthen its eastern European position, allowing it to expand more into the Baltics and surrounding countries. ICT specialises in full- and part-loads between east and west Europe via road, air, sea, river, and rail. Services include oversize cargo, warehousing, distribution, and customs clearance. Headquartered in Denmark, ICT has offices in Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and the UK.  It has a fleet of around 600 trailers and own 20 trucks, employs 80 people and annual revenues of DKK 260m (£30m).

DFDS has also completed the acquisition of cold chain specialist, HSF Logistics Group, following an agreement signed in January. HSF operates around 700 trucks and 1,700 reefer trailers, giving its new parent a combined fleet of 1,350 trucks and over 8,000 trailers.

HSF operates from 22 locations in Europe, including the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark as well as an office in China. The HSF Logistics Group has an annual revenue of approximately DKK 2.8bn (£323.8m).
