DFDS revenue holds up despite freight fall

[ May 11, 2023   //   ]

DFDS reported an increase in revenue of 9% to DKK6.3 billion (£756 million) in the first quarter of 2023, despite a slowdown in freight volume. Freight volumes between the UK and Continent/Scandinavia declined, especially on the English Channel, while domestic transport volumes, including in the UK, were more robust. Passenger traffic also continued to recover. The war in Ukraine lowered freight volumes in the Baltic region compared to 2022. Highlights during the quarter included completion of the acquisition of Irish operator McBurney.
