DFDS strengthens Ghent links

[ March 28, 2017   //   ]

Shipping operator DFDS has signed a strategic partnership with Belgium’s port of Ghent and is increasing the number of ro ro freight sailings to Gothenburg to six a week. The Ark Germania will be added as a fourth ship to the route. It is also setting up a fixed three times a week barge service to move containers in the direction of Antwerp and Rotterdam. There are also 10 dedicated trains per week carrying steel, truck cabins and palletized cargo to and from France (Dunkerque, Mardic and Montaterre), Germany (Krefeld) and Sweden (Malmo, Umea and Halsberg).

DSV Solutions will also extend its distribution activities in the port. Following the completion last year of  a high-rise warehouse it is now creating additional capacity for healthcare and pharmaceutical products.
