DFDS to run electric trucks in UK and Ireland

DFDS is to introduce electric trucks to its operations in the UK, Ireland and Norway as part of an expansion of its fleet. The Danish logistics company  has ordered another 100 Volvo FH Electric and FM Electric trucks to almost double its fleet to 225 and making it the largest fleet in continent al Europe.

It aims to have at least 25% of its truck fleet electrified by 2030. It already has 95 e-trucks operating in Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Belgium, and the Netherlands a further 30 due to be delivered during 2024.

In Denmark, DFDS has also deployed 52 electric reefer trailers, giving a near zero-emission transport capability for frozen and refrigerated cargo.
