DFDS to upgrade Norway offering

[ September 20, 2018   //   ]

DFDS will expand its services between Norway, Zeebrugge and Immingham from February 2019.

The route is currently served by the side port/container vessel Lysbris Seaways, mainly shipping forest products, along with various types of container cargo.

The improved route will be served by a larger ro-ro vessel, Finlandia Seaways to carry additional cargo including trailers, self-drives, machinery and a wider variety of project cargo.

DFDS will add Brevik to the route, in addition to the current ports of Fredrikstad and Halden, offering access to both the east and west shores of Oslofjord.

There will be late-week departures from Zeebrugge and Immingham with early-week arrivals in Norway, The enhanced service will replace the current ro-ro connection between Ghent and Brevik.

DFDS adds that the reduced southbound transit time opens the way for fresh fish exports from Norway to the Continent.
