DHL creates European life sciences hub

DHL Group is to transform its Life Sciences & Healthcare campus in Florstadt near Frankfurt am Main, Germany into a European pharmaceutical hub. With the addition of a fourth logistics centre the campus now comprises 100,000sq m with capacity for more than 140,000 pallets. The new 30,000sq m Florstadt 4 warehouse has been designed for the storage and distribution of high-value pharmaceutical and medical products. It features multiple temperature zones, with the capability to reach as low as -70°C if needed. Particular focus is placed on the critical temperature ranges of 2–8°C and -20°C, ensuring compliance with the highest standards for handling temperature-sensitive products. There is also an integrated clean room to enable GMP-compliant processes for highly sensitive substances and raw pharmaceutical materials.
