The most urgent deliveries of all: DHL Express to the rescue
[ April 29, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]DHL Express UK has signed a new national partnership with Air Ambulances UK (AAUK), the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance operators.
DHL will raise funds to support the critical work of the charities across the UK. Donations will be distributed evenly across all 21 charities, helping ensure crews can continue to deliver advanced pre-hospital care for life-threatening injury or illness.
DHL Express UK is encouraging its local staff the opportunity to volunteer and support their local air ambulance charity.
Head of corporate fundraising at Air Ambulances UK, Mark Heaven, said: “Their support will make a real difference to air ambulance charities across the UK, helping ensure critical care teams can respond quickly and effectively. By engaging their staff in fundraising and volunteering, DHL is helping bring communities closer to the vital work of air ambulance crews every day.”
DHL Express UK chief executive, John Cornish, added: “The lifesaving work of Air Ambulances UK is something that genuinely resonates with our colleagues, many of whom spend their working hours driving across the UK. Serious accidents on the road demand rapid, specialist care, and air ambulance crews are often the vital link between the scene and hospital treatment. We’re proud to support AAUK’s work, helping ensure these teams can continue delivering advanced care when every second matters”.
Air ambulance charities carry out an average of 134 missions every day — each funded almost entirely by the generosity of the public, supporters, and partners.
