DHL strong despite VAT charge

[ August 3, 2012   //   ]

Deutsche Post DHL said its growth remained firmly in place during the second quarter of 2012, up 13.7% to €13.7 billion. Revenues generated between April and June rose 7.3% above the previous year and, supported by favorable exchange rate effects this increase exceeded the growth rate produced in the first quarter of the year. The company’s parcel business generated double-digit growth in volume and revenues, although a one-off VAT payment affected earnings in the Mail division in the second quarter. The company has made an upward adjustment to its earnings guidance for the current fiscal year and now expects to generate group earnings before interest and tax between €2.6 billion and €2.7 billion.
