Digital forwarder opens in Romania

[ May 4, 2022   //   ]

Digital freight forwarder sennder is opening an office in Bucharest, Romania. With more than 90,000 drivers and 25,000 transport companies, sennder says that Romania is one of the fastest-developing logistics markets in Europe and a gateway between Central and Eastern Europe.

It opened in Poland in September 2019 and the Baltics in May 2020.

Operations in Romania are led by Bogdan-Gabriel Steliean, who brings more than 10 years experience from Cargo partners, DHL Freight, and GEFCO Group. The company plans to further expand the team in Bucharest from currently 11 to 40 employees by the end of the year.

Steliean commented: “The office expansion is a logical next step to bring more density to Europe’s largest network of carriers. With European logistics experiencing volatility, we are looking to shore our position in Central and Eastern Europe with more carriers and shippers. We look forward to being a reliable partner to carriers and shippers in Romania who will benefit from sennder’s digital platform to help mitigate shortcomings in the market.”

Sennder was founded in 2015 by David Nothacker, Julius Köhler and Nicolaus Schefenacker and offers shippers access to a fleet of over 40,000 trucks across Europe and has a team of over 900 people.
