Doncaster Sheffield gets its skates on

[ October 13, 2016   //   ]

Doncaster Sheffield Airport has handled two 747 freighters for Feld Entertainment on behalf of Disney on Ice, bringing set and staging equipment to the UK for this year’s Frozen tour.

The two cargo aircraft arrived at Doncaster Sheffield Airport from Narita, Japan on 4 October in preparation for the start of the show, which begins its tour in Manchester and reaches Sheffield Arena in December.

Airport cargo manager Dayle Hauxwell, said: “The complicated nature of the freight on board meant that a bespoke service involving a full tail to truck operation was required. This was not a job that many other UK airports would have been capable of delivering, so this is a real testament to our capabilities.”

He added that it was the first time that Nippon Cargo Airlines have flown into Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
