Dover opens freight holding area

[ April 23, 2016   //   ]

The Port of Dover has officially opened its freight holding facility, capable of accommodating 220 HGVs and removing 4km of queuing traffic from Kent’s highways. In a ceremony held to coincide with the launch Government’s Exporting is GREAT campaign on 20 April, chief executive said the port had invested millions in removing old buildings and installing new traffic management technology and infrastructure. The internal Dover scheme is separate from plans to create a large lorry park outside the port, which is subject to a public enquiry.
