Dover People’ Port plan outcome is imminent

Shipping Minister Stephen Hammond will visit Dover on 9 April to make a major announcement on the ‘People’s Port’ plan to sell the Trust Port to a consortium of local interests, reports the Dover Express website. The website quotes an ‘industry insider’ who says that the announcement is likely to please supporters of the People’s Port.
Last month, the port revealed a plan to develop a site in the Western Docks originally earmarked for a second ro ro terminal for general cargo berths as an interim step, as well as measures to speed traffic through the existing ro ro terminal at Eastern Docks.
