DP World extends South American empire

DP World is to acquire 71.3% stake in Chilean port operator Pulogsa from Minera Valparaiso and other shareholders associated with the Matte Group. Pulogsa operates a long-term concession for Puerto Central in San Antonio, central Chile, a multipurpose terminal and one of the country’s largest container ports with a capacity of over 1m teu a year. It also owns and operates Puerto Lirquen in the south. DP World already owns operations on the west coast of South America including Posorja (Ecuador), Callao and Paita (Peru).
