DP World has launched a cold chain corridor connecting Turkish egg producers to markets including Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain and the US.

Initially, the weekly service will transport 6.7 million eggs per month but could be scaled up to 450 million eggs annually.

Transport is by sea through DP World ports and transshipment centres, with continuous temperature monitoring and internationally certified cold storage containers.

According to World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS ), Türkiye was the world’s third largest exporter of eggs in 2024 – behind only the Netherlands and Poland. The UAE was its most important trading partner, receiving some 40% of Türkiye’s egg export s. DP World already handles 30% of total eggs transported by sea.

Executive vice president for Eastern Europe, Kris Adams, said: “Eggs are delicate products, but with the right combination of technology , expertise and global infrastructure, we can move them safely and efficiently across continents. This new service creates opportunities for Türkiye’s agricultural sector and demonstrates how smart logistics can unlock new frontiers in perishable trade — with tailor-made solutions available for every customer.”
