DP World signs Domincan deal
[ May 9, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]DP World has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of the Dominican Republic for a deal worth US$760 million to expand the Port of Caucedo and its Free Trade Zone. It will raise Caucedo’s container handling capacity from 2.5 million TEU to about 3.1 million TEUs, while unlocking 225 hectares of development-ready land. The deal includes $380 million for the port, including the expansion of the quay and breakwater to accommodate next-generation vessels and new ship-to-shore cranes.
