DP World’s Aart Hille Ris Lambers takes top Multimodal title

DP World’s Aart Hille Ris Lambers was named personality of the year and there were awards for Maritime Transport, Freightliner, Maersk Line and Air Menzies International among others at the record-breaking event last night.

Aart Hille Ris Lambers UK commercial director, DP World was revealed as the winner at a record-breaking Multimodal Awards last night.

Eight hundred guests came together at the VOX in Birmingham on the evening of the first day of the show to celebrate achievement and innovation by companies from across the supply chain during the last 19 months.

Freightliner, Maersk Line, Air Menzies International, CMA CGM Group, Kuehne + Nagel, and the The Pallet Network were also winners, with Maritime Transport named Multimodal Exhibitor of the Year 2021.

Show director Robert Jervis,  said: “It was fantastic to be able to bring so many people together to celebrate the resilience and hard work our industry has demonstrated through so many challenging month. We congratulate everyone who was nominated last night, they should be rightly proud of their achievements.”

He added: “The way that the industry stepped up during Brexit and Covid has been nothing short of astounding, and we thank all of our supporters for showing up in force to join us at the show and last night.”

Aart Hille Ris Lambers was awarded his prize by a judging panel including a Multimodal selection group and previous winners. He was described last night as having ‘integrity and a willingness to listen to new ideas’, as well as being a ‘thorough professional.’

Maritime Transport, celebrating 20 years of operations in 2021, was named Exhibitor of the Year for its ‘truly multi-faceted, flexible, and agile’ approach.

Speedy Freight, DP World UK and Fargo Systems also took prizes, with Pure Electric and Maersk awarded the Shipper/Partner accolade for a collaborative project, which helped Pure Electric grow business.

Sophie Berry from Howard Tenens won the Logistics Young Professional of the Year Award that recognises emerging talent in the industry. She was described by judges as an ‘all-rounder and one to watch’.

CMA CGM Group won the Sustainability Award for not only setting ambitious Co2 reduction targets but delivering tangible results.

Thousands of readers of the Multimodal Newsletter, as well as visitors to the show and their customers voted for the modal, port, 3PL, pallet network, and technology awards.

A panel of nine judges from across the industry selected the Young Personality, Sustainability, and Shipper/Partner Awards.
