DSV gets on the road from China

[ October 12, 2020   //   ]

DSV has launched a road service between China and Europe. Branded DSV Silkway Express, it offers transit times of 14-18 days at rates much lower than air freight and more flexibility. The forwarder says it will collect the cargo precisely when it is ready at the shipper, and there are no closing or cut off times as with shipping, rail or air services.

The service operates seven days a week and multiple pickup and delivery locations are possible. Customers can also reroute goods while en route.

Trucks are sealed and equipped with GPS tracking and the security fee is included in the transport cost, covering rest stops at secure parking lots. The service can move of all types of freight, including PPE and dangerous goods.
