Dublin to build second runway

[ April 8, 2016   //   ]

Irish airport operator DAA has revived a plan to build a new runway for Dublin Airport. The 3,110 metre runway will be built 1.6km north of the existing main runway and is expected to open in about 2020. The €320 million scheme was shelved during the recession but Dublin has recorded strong traffic growth and is seen as essential to open up new routes to Asia, Africa and South America.
