Efret offers alternative for transit post-2027

[ October 28, 2026   //   ]

Efret says it will offer alternative arrangements for starting customs transit movements from early 2027 when facilities at Sevington are set to close

The GB Global subsidiary says that while alternative facilities will be available through the Port of Dover and Getlink (Eurotunnel), operators may need to reconsider how they manage customs transit movements.

Efret is an HMRC-approved Authorised Consignor and it says that this, combined with its Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation and specialist customs platforms, will allow it to provide transit services on behalf of third-party shippers and carriers.

Operators will be able to avoid unnecessary visits to customs offices of departure, reducing delays, additional mileage and costs while benefiting from greater flexibility and more predictable schedules.
