Emirates returns home

[ October 12, 2011   //   ]

Emirates SkyCargo has returned to its Stansted Road base on the south side of Heathrow airport just over a year after the previous building was seriously damaged in a fire. The building, which is run by Emirates’ cargo handling partner Servisair Cargo, includes a warehouse which handles freight for the carrier’s five daily Heathrow flights along with Emirates’ UK cargo sales and management teams.

Emirates’ cargo manager UK & Ireland, Phil Rawlings, paid tribute to the hard work by Emirates and Servisair staff to bring the carrier to its home base. Improvements to the new Building 521B include an additional delivery door for the warehouse and a more advanced roller-bed floor system for moving ULDs. The operational office has also been relocated within the building, making it a more naturally-lit facility and increasing the size of the warehouse floor. Work stations and kitchen areas have also been enhanced.

Phone and fax numbers are unchanged.
