Europa Recognises Talent Within the Business

Adam McBride Promoted to Finance Director.
Ambitious and innovative logistics operator  Europa Worldwide Group is showcasing its drive to recognise and nurture talent from within its business.
Since Managing Director Andrew Baxter acquired the business in 2013, Europa has prioritised internal career development. Employees have been given the opportunity to progress through training, allowing them to enhance current skills or facilitate into other roles within the business.
Internal promotions have also been prioritised – further showcasing the firms work to grow and develop teams and individuals internally. The most recent example is the promotion of Adam McBride from Commercial Controller to Finance Director.
Since he joined in 2016 Adam has played at integral role in developing new financial systems including the launch of Leo Finance, Europa’s internal IT system, and delivered a new reporting system to create a more efficient way of reviewing finances across all Europa divisions – Road, Air & Sea, Warehouse, Showfreight, Contact Centre and Continental Cargo Carriers.
In addition to this, Adam has been heavily involved in the financial forecasting of Europa’s new £60million site at Corby. It’s most ambitious project to date, the new ‘best in class’ 3PL warehousing and logistics facility at Midlands Logistics Park, Northants, is set to open in June 2020.
Managing Director of Europa Worldwide Group, Andrew Baxter, comments: “Adam has been working with Europa since 21016 and is an excellent example of how we strive to nurture talent from within, ensuring staff have the opportunity to develop and progress.
“By the end of 2019 the business had grown to £205m (with profits of £6m). As a fast-growing business it’s important to have the best and most trusted people at the helm, across all divisions, and that includes Finance.
“I believe Adam is the best person for the job, largely because he knows the business so well and has already been working across some of our key projects including our Leo IT system and Corby Warehouse.”
As Europa’s Finance Director, Adam’s new role will include the overall management of the 30 strong Finance team. Adam comments: “I am delighted to have been promoted to the role of Finance Director. My experience within the company has given me the confidence and knowledge to be able to deliver what is required and ensure the team manage Europa’s financial activity efficiently.
“From the top down, everyone working at Europa is driving towards common goals – we are all on the same page about where we are headed and what we want to achieve. That streamlined approach and determined mindset allows us to continue moving forward, growing and developing as a business.”
