Europa signs new deals in Europe

[ January 6, 2017   //   ]

UK groupage operator Europa Road has signed new partnership agreements for Spain, the Netherlands and Portugal.

In Spain, Europa will be working with Turkish owned Ekol, to enhance its routes, in particular to Barcelona where Europa will now be able to offer services six days a week to and from the city. It already offers daily services to Madrid and Irun which will continue.

Ekol is also Davies Turner’s partner for services to and from Turkey.

In the Netherlands, Europa will be working with Tilburg-based BF Global and will continue to operate two daily trips to and from Dartford to Tilburg. BF Global was founded in 2012 after a management buy out and operates across a wide variety of industry sectors including automotive, fashion, technology and consumer electronics.

Europa’s new partner in Portugal is Abreu Carga, founded in 1840 in Porto and remains which branched out from travel and tourism into European freight forwarding when it set up a separate company in 1994.

Europa had previously worked with Transnatur in Spain and Portugal, and Ziegler in the Netherlands.

Europa’s operations director, Dan Cook, Operations said: “Our business has huge ambitions for exponential growth and we need to have the right local partner framework in place to deliver these ambitions.  As we focus on not only growing the volume of consignments in 2017 and beyond, but the overall product quality and competitiveness that we offer, we need a powerful network which delivers high standards of services for our customers in what is a fiercely competitive marketplace.”
