Ex-Allport man launches small freight firms marketing service

[ January 7, 2015   //   ]

Paul Kelly, formerly responsible for marketing at Allport Cargo Services, has launched a specialist marketing firm for the freight and logistics industry. Actualis Marketing consultancy will serve SMEs in the forwarding, supply chain and logistics sectors.

Kelly said: “After a decade and a half with Allport Cargo Services I had achieved everything I conceivably could there. The global Allport rebrand presented the ideal note on which to leave and pursue my ambition to serve more businesses in our space.”

Too many smaller companies don’t have access to the resources that their larger competitors have – but it makes “a profound commercial difference”, says Kelly, who adds: “I hope to level the playing field.”

The freight, supply chain and logistics markets are mature, leading customers to differentiate on price, which has been driving down margins for years. But effective marketing can counteract this.

Kelly adds: “After 20 years in marketing, 16 of which were in freight forwarding, I have launched Actualis Marketing to provide SME freight forwarders, supply chain and logistics companies access to flexible marketing outsourcing and consultancy services, that will help them meet their growth potential.”

Kelly says that his research suggests that Actualis is the only independent marketing consultancy dedicated to the freight sector.
