Felixstowe imposes emergency fuel surcharge

[ March 24, 2026   //   ]

The Port of Felixstowe will impose an Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) from 1 April of £2.95 per import laden container to offset a surge in diesel prices. It says that diesel is a critical component of its operations including container handling equipment, transport and yard activity. The scale and speed of these cost increases have exceeded levels that can be absorbed within existing operational budgets, the port says.
