Ferrymasters signs forwarder alliance

P&O Ferrymasters has signed a strategic alliance with independent forwarder Horizon International Cargo to link their respective pan-European and inter-continental capabilities.

P&O Ferrymasters- owned by DP World offers tailor-made logistics services in Europe including overland and short sea operations from 25 offices in 12 countries in the steel, building products, chemicals, paper, packaging, automotive and consumer goods industries while Horizon specialises in intercontinental freight forwarding in in high-tech cargo such as consumer electronics, pharmaceuticals and machinery equipment. Horizon’s network includes Heathrow, Kent, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Nitra (Slovakia), Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Salt Lake City, Tokyo and sister company offices throughout China.

P&O Ferrymasters commercial director Phillip Jones explained: “The relationship is in direct response to customers increasingly looking to a single service provider to offer a full spectrum of integrated supply chain and logistics services, both across Europe and worldwide.”

Horizon managing director Mark Talbot adds: “The relationship substantially strengthens our service portfolio within Europe. Likewise it gives P&O Ferrymasters a dedicated platform for global coverage as their customers increasingly look beyond Europe.” He added that the partners had already attracted numerous enquiries and handled their first co-ordinated move.
