Ferrymasters signs Russia deal

P&O Ferrymasters has signed a cooperation agreement with Moscow-based Sovtransavto, a major holding group for more than 20 transport and logistics companies involved in international and domestic trade. An inter-office communications interface is being set up and the companies are developing plans for joint participation on specific projects.

The move follows a meeting between P&O Ferrymasters’s general manager for Eastern Europe Johann Winkler and deputy director general Andrey Brashkin leading the Sovtransavto team.

P&O Ferrymasters’ has branches in Moscow and Kiev, which are targeting the FMCG and industrial sectors as well as existing multinational and domestic customers. Sovtransavto was established more than 40 years ago and now consists of ten logistics companies, 12 haulage operators – including a specialist container haulier – and four cargo terminals.
