First break in football thanks to forwarder

[ October 6, 2016   //   ]

If one day the name Charlie Cooksey is on every footballing pundit’s lips, remember that he started his career courtesy of Röhlig UK.

The forwarder is sponsoring the promising youngster, as he plays for the Northampton Town Football Club Academy during the 2016/17 season.

Having started with the Academy aged eight, Charlie is now in his 3rd season.

Like the seniors, the boys team travels long distances to play their matches and it’s a big commitment both to regular training sessions and attending games. Having his first official ‘photoshoot’ with Gary Pryke, Rohlig’s UK’s managing director – and also a professional photographer at Röhlig head office was another new experience.

Gary Pryke, said: “He’s not only a talented footballer but he also shared with us his enthusiasm for the game and he made some predictions about the results of the next few matches and the standard of the opposition. We’re looking forward to coming to the home matches this season and hope Charlie scores many goals to bring his team success this year.”
