First ship for CMA CGM’s new Colombia port

[ February 18, 2026   //   ]

CMA CGM has handled its first large containership at Puerto Antioquia, its new gateway in Colombia, 30 km from Medellín and 700km from Bogotá on the Caribbean coast.  CMA Terminals, together with local and international investors, is a shareholder and contributor to the new facility which will handle container, ro ro, bulk and general cargo. Until now the country’s agricultural exports, particularly bananas, avocados, and other fresh produce grown in the Urabá region were shipped from Turbo, also located in the Gulf of Urabá (Antioquia), where limited draft and barge-based operations made exports more complex and costly.
