Forwarder checklist ticks all the boxes

[ August 26, 2019   //   ]

Freight forwarder Rhenus Logistics has produced a checklist for international shippers of goods to in the run-up to Brexit. Suggested actions include registering for an EORI number, signing up for the Transitional Simplified Procedure (TSP), appointing a reputable customs broker, determining the value of goods being traded for statistical and VAT/ duty declarations and determining the origin of goods

Shippers should familiarise themselves with any Incoterms used and to provide carriers with detailed descriptions of goods and customs classification, along with commercial invoices, licences and certificates.

Setting up a deferment account could also help with cash flow and facilitate rapid clearance of shipments
